a beginning: living in a nature corridor
14 NOVEMBER, 2005
We've just moved to a little town called Cooran up in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We’re renting a straw bale house on an intentional community owned by an artist. There are about six other people living here and a plethora of native animals. It’s a 12 acre block, a nature corridor for wildlife, so no domestic pets are permitted. Outside our little house we've made a garden. But we really didn’t have to do a lot. Passionfruit vines ramble up through the lantana and gumtrees; papaya trees spring up where ever there's a spare patch of dirt.
