spring renewal

8 SEPTEMBER, 2013

Spring is heating up and I am keen to finish the swales before too long. It's time to plant some green manure and veggies and mulch everything well. My plan has slightly altered and is a little simpler than what I originally conceived. I have decided to stick with a swale where the original path was leading to the chicken coop. This has been dug out and will be filled with stones, so it drains well.

The top half of the garden closest to the house is where I will plant veggies and the bottom half of the garden will be planted out with more trees (I have a couple in pots waiting to be planted and I will also create a native area in the far corner. The garden looks quite chaotic but today I decided on a plan that will be possible to carry out over the Spring. I can't wait to move the chicken coop into the back yard and start work on building up the soil there too.
