Nigerian Dwarf Goats
-
Our Nigerian Dwarf goats have been selectively bred from Australian award-winning stock and imported premium USA genetics, chosen from bloodlines with superior dairy traits.
We raise our goats in a family environment, with care and protection provided by our livestock guardian dog. Our herd is intentionally small, growing slowly through holistic practices to ensure the health and wellbeing of every goat.
All our goats are registered with the Miniature Goat Breeders Association of Australia (MGBA) and are myotonia-free.
-
Nigerian Dwarf goats are known for their distinct personalities, full of curiosity and playful energy. They are gentle, calm, and, thanks to their small size, can thrive without requiring extensive acreage.
-
Nigerian Dwarf goats produce exceptionally high-quality milk, even compared to traditional dairy goats. Their milk is naturally rich in butterfat, milk solids, and protein, making it ideal for cheese, yoghurt, ice cream, butter, cream, fudge, kefir, soap, skincare products, and lip balm.
-
Our goats are rotationally grazed and regularly walked across the farm to ensure a diverse, natural diet. They are wormed naturally, and we are gradually moving away from disbudding, prioritizing their welfare and natural development.
Enhancing Herd Diversity with Premier Genetics
At Dar’ali, we are dedicated to enriching our Nigerian Dwarf goat herd by incorporating diverse and high-quality genetics. Our breeding program emphasizes superior dairy traits, conformation, and health, ensuring the production of exceptional goats.
🌿 To achieve our breeding goals, we’ve introduced genetics from leading Australian breeders. Ferntree Hill Farm in Victoria contributes exceptional conformation and strong dairy traits through its purebred Nigerian Dwarf lines, while Glendowen Farm adds proven dairy performance and milk quality. In Spring 2025, all our kids are sired by Percival, a standout Nigerian Dwarf known for his excellent conformation and production. His addition marks an important step in strengthening our herd’s genetic diversity and maintaining our high breeding standards.
Champion Foundation
First Fleet Apollo
Our herd traces back to First Fleet Apollo, a multi-award-winning champion whose genetics continue to shape our goats’ conformation, temperament, and overall quality.
Combined with select US premium bloodlines, these foundation genetics ensure healthy, well-tempered, and show-ready offspring.
Next Generation Nigerian Dwarfs:
Arrow & Freya
Our two Nigerian Dwarf twins born in Spring 2022, sired by Kamalaya Farm Tulloch and Stoney Creek Maverick, carry top-tier US and Apollo foundation genetics. Arrow shows a bold, independent personality, and Freya is gentle and approachable - both are strong, healthy, and well-formed.
Australian Miniatures –
50% Nigerian Dwarf
Our herd includes Australian Miniatures sired by Stoney Creek Lucas, a naturally polled buck and son of Dill’s RD Big & Rich, awarded Champion Dwarf Senior Buck (QLD Royal 2022) and Reserve Champion (NSW Mullumbimby 2022). These goats inherit his strong conformation, health, temperament, and naturally polled genetics.
